Infant Traumatic Responses to Intimate Partner Violence

Much research has focused on the deleterious effects of exposure to intimate partner violence on the physical, psychological, and behavioral outcomes of children. However, little research has examined how infants and very young children might be affected. This talk, delivered by Dr. G. Anne Bogat, Professor, Psychology, Michigan State University, will focus on this population.  She will explain the difficulties of assessing traumatic responses and PTSD in infants and very young children as a prelude for presenting research that explains pathways from intimate partner violence and parenting to infant trauma symptoms.
