Ms. Costello joined the Center in 2018. As a specialist in health prevention marketing and media, she supports Center administration and researchers, coordinating communications and disseminating research results through Center media such as the website, newsletter, social media and stories of impact. In a partnership with University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) researchers, she coordinated the development and dissemination of the evidence-based Mott Drive Smart program for distracted driving prevention, as part of her project management role with C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Pediatric Trauma Program from 2015-2018. Ms. Costello, a former advanced EMT, has worked in the field of health behavior change, health consulting and marketing, and has held project management roles for over 25 years.

Research Interests

Research interests include parent and teen distracted driving behaviors and attitudes, parent role modeling, engagement of communications with respect to injury prevention, tailored health media, community dashboards, emergency care in rural settings, and military health care.
