Biography
Dr. Cranford is an Associate Research Scientist in the department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan. He is also an Associate Research Scientist at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, MI. Dr. Cranford mentors research teams and helps design and analyze research studies.
Research Interests
In collaboration with colleagues, Dr. Cranford’s research focuses on 1) family context of substance use and substance use disorders; 2) application of intensive longitudinal methods to studies of daily stress, moods, and substance use; and 3) social and psychological mechanisms of negative and positive behavior change. Their work aims to reduce the substantial public health burden of substance use and substance use disorders.
