Biography
Dr. Englesbe is the Cyrenus G. Darling Sr., MD and Cyrenus G. Darling Jr., MD Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan in the Section of Transplantation Surgery. He is also the director of the Michigan Surgical Quality Collaborative (MSQC) and co-directs the Michigan Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (Michigan OPEN). Dr. Englesbe specializes in kidney and liver transplantation in adults and children. He has a specific expertise in portal hypertension in children and adults.
Research Interests
Dr. Englesbe’s research and policy interests focus on improving the quality and efficiency of surgical care, including perioperative optimization of patients for major surgery and best practices around perioperative pain management
