Biography

Nichole Burnside, M.B.A. is the Managing Director of the University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center, and has been a part of the University of Michigan since 2001. Before joining the Michigan Injury Prevention Center, Nichole worked as the DEI Program Manager and Implementation Lead at the School of Public Health. She led the implementation of the DEI strategic plan. Additionally, she worked at the Institute for Social Research, as the Research Administrator and DEI Strategic Lead, and at the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR), as a Project Coordinator to increase the representation of black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) in clinical research studies.

Research Interests

Ms. Burnside is involved in all of the core injury focus areas of the U-M IPC as part of her work as Managing Director. She has extensive experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into her portfolio of strategic leadership, research management, and community-engaged research.
