Biography
Dr. Veliz is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing and the Institute for Research on Women and Gender (IRWG).
Research Interests
Dr. Veliz's research focuses on athletes’ use and misuse of prescription opioids. In particular, he assesses whether athletes in certain types of sports are at greater risk of misusing opioids due to injury, stress, or for recreation.
