Transportation Safety

Our work in transportation safety starts with how we communicate about it. It’s common for people to refer to crashes as “accidents,” but we try to avoid that term because it implies that crashes can’t be prevented. In reality, we can work together to improve transportation safety by doing things like improving our roads, encouraging safe driving behaviors, and engineering to improve safety.
