New U-M IPC Visual Abstract based on Work by Dr. Dora-Laskey and Team
We are excited to share a new visual abstract based on a study published by Dr. Aaron Dora-Laskey and co-authors Director of Statistics & Methods Section Dr. Jason Goldstick; Brooke Arterberry; Suni Jo Roberts; Core Faculty Dr. Rebecca Haffajee; Opioids Content Lead Dr. Amy Bohnert; Senior Advisor Dr. Rebecca Cunningham; and Director Dr. Patrick Carter.
In the article, “Prevalence and Predictors of Driving After Prescription Opioid Use in an Adult ED Sample,” the researchers concluded that the ED may be an important site for interventions addressing opioid-related drugged driving, finding that nearly 1 in 6 adult patients seeking emergency department care reported driving after taking prescription opioids (DAPO). The work was published in the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine: Integrating Emergency Care with Population Health.
