New U-M IPC Visual Abstract based on Work by Dr. Cheryl King and Team

In partnership with the Department of Psychiatry, the University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center is excited to share a new visual abstract based on a study published online in JAMA Psychiatry, by Core Faculty Dr. Cheryl King and co-authors Dr. David Brent and Dr. Jacqueline Grupp-Phelan, et al.

In the article, “Prospective development and validation of the computerized adaptive screen for suicidal youth” the authors describe the development and validation of a novel adaptive screen for suicidal youth (CASSY), that is proposed to be used as a universal screening tool for elevated suicide risk in the emergency department. The CASSY demonstrated high classification accuracy in risk recognition and can facilitate linkage to services, alerting the providers and caregivers which adolescents need follow-up interventions.
