Biography

Elizabeth Metzger is currently an Epidemiology PhD Candidate under the mentorship of Doug Wiebe, PhD, and Concussion Center Zatkoff Inaugural Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan. For over a decade, her work has focused on examining low-level blast exposure, traumatic brain injury, suicide, hazing, and sexual violence in U.S. Military conventional and Special Operations populations. She has taught multiple collegiate courses at various institutions, including Global Health, Community Health, Health Disparities, and Introduction to Health for 9 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UNC Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in Public Health and a Nonprofit Management Graduate Certificate from UNC Charlotte. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and Certified in Public Health (CPH). She cares deeply about evaluating the prevalence of and formulating preventative solutions for injuries affecting Active Duty Service Members, Veterans, and their families.
